10th Jan 2022 – Join the team at the Rivers Trust as we visit a site on the Cloontagh River to gully stuff. This is a natural flood management technique which helps to slow the flow. Using small branches we stuff these across dry gullies. In heavy rainfall when these gullies can carry rain down to the river and contribute to high flows, the branches will help to slow down the water and help to reduce flooding downstream. If we stuff lots of little gullies the effect is cumulative.
Join us at 11am. All equipment and PPE provided and tea of course.
