February 2022 – Earlier this month we welcomed a contingent from the Office of Public Works (OPW) to view the natural flood management measures installed as part of the ‘On the Ground’ project. With a good dry day we were able to visit several of the sites, showing the range of measures installed and discussing how the dams can be monitored going forward. After lunch, the group also visited the revetment sites that the Trust have installed on the Glennagannon River. A very interesting day for everyone involved and lots of ideas to exchange.
Thank you to the landowners for permission to visit the sites and to Rosemary McCloskey, our trustee, for assisting with the tour.
